Hope in the midst of chaos

In a world full of chaos and hatred, the believer of Christ must prevail. Many people are losing their way by choosing to be led by the spirit of fear. Yes! The spirit of fear.

In the past, many were fearful of diseases, human trafficking and robbery.  However, nowadays, many are still fearful of those things. However, they have a greater fear of being touched by loved ones, scared to walk down the aisle when another person simply sneezes. Many feel so hopeless to step outside that they refuse to go to work in a public place even in the midst of their hunger. Covid and Monkeypox has trampled on many believers' faith. They are simply hopeless.

Well, my friends, we must stand on our faith. We cannot waiver. We must remember and recall the blessings of The Most High through Christ. In fact, we must do and practice what I call the five R's.

The Five R's are:

  • Recall
  • Reflect
  • Repent
  • Recover
  • Rebuild

Recall the blessings of the Lord. What He has fulfilled in your past, The Most High changes not. Therefore, He is willing to do it again. Recall His word, that He will never leave you nor forsake you. That's a promise. So, we cannot forsake Him in these trying times. No matter how dark it looks, we must look and move towards the light.

Reflect deeply on those blessings that you've previously recalled. Think on those things. In fact, Phillipians 4:8-9 says to us, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you".

Repentance can truly be one of the hardest things but the most rewarding thing that a believer can do. Therefore, we must repent and turn back to the ways of The Most High through Christ in order to obtain and maintain the reward of Peace. Jesus said, "peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.         (John 14:27) Therefore, my sisters and brothers I encourage you to obtain your peace and don't lose it. If you feel yourself falling away, grab hold to your landline call Him up for help. Always remember, "that Jesus is on the main line, call Him up and tell Him what you want".

Recovery is a huge part of life. In the teachings of Bishop C. R. Davis, Jr. he has taught that recovery is more than just someone trying to overcome substance and alcohol abuse. Recovery is simply recovering from anything or anyone that has caused you hurt and pain. Recovering from love addiction that includes loving someone who hurts you but learning to love yourself enough to move on. Some people have to recover from sex addiction. Yes, sex was a gift from God to be fruitful and multiply. However, it was never meant to be tainted in the ways we have corrupted sex in today's society. Recovering from our old way of thinking and allowing ourselves to have the mind of Christ, allows us the opportunity to be restored back to The Most High. We can recover those things that we have lost and more, but only through Christ.

Rebuilding is the last stage of the five R's. Nevertheless, it's vital to the commission of Christ. We as believers have been given a great command to "go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost". We can only rebuild by rebuilding others, by teaching others the true way of salvation. The same salvation that our faith has been built on. That way and only way is Christ. There's no other way.

We all want to make it to heaven. Let's face it, we don't want to live in a hellish world just to go into the hell that the Holy Bible speaks of. So, today make an effort to complete at least one step of the "five R's". Especially getting motivated to motivate someone else to come into or return to the body of Christ. Either way, let us do our part to bringing hope into a chaotic world.
